Why does he have to do that? Im just curious, should he post his SS# and drivers license as well?
I dont understand.....................

If someone posted that they wanted to buy a motorcycle on a forum, would they be asked if they have their license or how long they have been riding for someone to sell them one?
I believe it is our responsibility to promote responsible reefkeeping. I believe it is quite appropriate to ask some questions to determine someone's abilities and capabilities before helping them aquire livestock that require certain environmental parameters to live a long and healthy life in captivity.
I own a motorcycle, and when I purchased it, no one asked to see my license or inquired about my experience. I believe that's why we see some many inexperienced motorcyclists splattered all over the roads, especially in Daytona during the two motorcycle weeks held there each year. People see fun and by a bike and die.
People see fun and buy fish and the fish die. I want to be part of the solution, even if it means making some folks mad.

Well it is also due to the fact they are not wearing helmets, you look at all the cases and the majority are not wearing helmets, common sense tells you to wear a helmet, ask Big Ben. Just a little fact i would also like to add is that if a dealer sells you a bike and do not ask if you have a license to drive the vehicle being bought it is against the law, now second party selling is a whole other ball game.

Kind of like..It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop. :)

Keep us posted ReefCrazy4. Let us know what you find.

Ok, i totally understand responsible reef keeping, doing research, and asking questions,

But how many of you have bought coral frags, grew into large colonies and had to frag or sell them because they got too big for your tank!?

Yes the tank may be pretty small for an adult tang, but a small young tang will be fine for awhile. Then he will be able to sell it to someone with a large enough tank. There are large 300g+ tanks in here that a 2" fish will look like a small speck and they will buy larger fish! Maybe it's just my tank, but these don't grow overnight.

maybe how much open space is in the tank is an appropiate question.

I didn't know not wearing a helmet killed you...I always thought it was the crashing part:)

Well you can also be killed wearing a helmet as well. Sometimes its the difference between having an open casket or a closed one with regards to what a helmet does.

But the majority of deaths at bike week are caused with no helmets but iam glad you think its kind of funny by putting a smilley, not really.

thanx bobbi.. for letting everyone know that... i do plan on upgrading tanks so i'll be fine with 4 small tangs.. not big.. small..

Does anybody have any tangs maybe powder blue or brown or kole..

As a biker for more years than either of you two have been alive, I politely ask that you keep to the topics at hand.

This is a Reef Forum - please do not open the helmet vs no helmet debate, especially when you do not have all the facts.

Trust me on this one..... it gets nasty.

Thank you,

Fuzz

fwiw - I wear a helmet 99.9 % of the time....

Will do, but have you ever heard of carl fogarty, well if you have he is my uncle and knows lets just say a few things about bikes. But your right its all about reef keeping so its now over, thank you fuzz for bringing that up and i mean that.

I really wasn't trying to. I never even brought a helmet up. I made one joke(and yes, bluecarpet, it was damn near hilarious to me) and left it at that. Two of my close friends have died riding bikes...I know it's serious. Another one had to go through 8 months of intensive therapy and three years later is still not the same and still cannot ride. But if you can't joke about life, you might as well be dead. I wasn't trying to say wear a helmet or don't...that's any biker's choice. What I was saying is that if you don't want to get hurt on a bike, don't ride one. That's the only way to stay safe in life...just don't do anything. I don't ride bikes and you know what, I've never so much as been hurt by a motorcycle yet alone died because of one. I really could care less if people in general wear helmets...I just care if my friends wear helmets.

Hey bluecarpet, you are not one to talk about death being funny or not after the posts you've had on here lately...need I remind you about the gruesome animal abuse videos you've been posting and saying LOL, funny, etc. in the titles with no warning to people who have ethics and morals on here. I'm done, but I think I needed to defend myself in this situation. A joke about someone dying is not a serious as a picture showing an animal with another bloodied animal in its mouth, if you ask me.

Well said, i have listened.

PM me if you are interested in a small sohal, i know of a guy selling one.

The main issue with people buying tangs then saying they will move them is many don't and they die. Now you might and that's cool or you might even get a bigger tank. I've seen it before. But I still think the questioning was fine. If you would of said, you plan on selling them or moving them to a bigger tank, then no one would even questioned it. Sometimes details do help.

I'd still be leary to put 4 tangs in that small of a tank even if they are a bit smaller. They do like to have room to prevent fighting. Good luck though as they are cool creatures.

Not gonan go to far off topic here but I will state the last 4 dead bikers ive dealt with had helmets on.... no helmets always makes the news as the reason though, reality is it was probally inexperience and or other drivers. Im not saying helmets are bad I would wear one if I where on bike but dont think they will save you, they may help, may not. Seatbelts on the other hand save lives without a doubt in MUCH larger proportion than helmets do. Moral of the rant is Bikers have a choice and I have yet to meet a biker that does not acknowledge the danger in what they choose, tangs dont have a choice in the fact of where they live.

As far as tangs go plpan on upgradeing real soon if your putting mor than one in a 75, even small fish like the yellow and kole will have territory issues ina 75. Adding another will cause issues for sure, sailfins can be downright mean even small ones.

You might want to look for smaller tangs then.
