I want another tang for my 180...

but can't decide on a) if I should even do another tang responsibly, b) what tang to even get.

I currently have about a 5-6" Naso tang, and about a 5" Blue Tang. They both get along great, both have been in my tank about a year, both eat everything and anything. No ich, no nothing.

I really thought about a Powder Blue, but considering how difficult they are, and my current tangs, I don't think I'd do it.

Thoughts on maybe a Purple Tang? Sailfin? Those are the two I think I'd like the most. (well, I'd love an Achilles, but again, just too difficult)

Maybe a yellow? They seem too boring to me, but I must admit the color is awesome in a tank.

Or, do I just not even go with a third?

Just looking to stir any pot I can, and get some opinions.

Thanks.

Both of your tangs grow fairly large and produce a large bio-load. I think a 3rd would be pushing it. What other fish do you have? You could perhaps get a Clown Goby or a Jawfish, or some other small goby. :)

powder blue is nice just make sure you find a healthy one that is eating at the LFS but be prepared for its aggressivemness. I had one that was laid back lost him when i move up to a bigger tank... this new guy i got is one mean dude! beats up on anything and everything... a regal thats twice its size and purple thats bigger than him too

In addition to my tangs, I have a Coral Beauty and a blue jaw trigger. (not very large, just a kid..)

That's it! I do plan on adding a manderin, a lineatus wrasse, and maybe another goby of some kind. Possibly a few anthias as well, but down the line...

currently have a 180 with a black longnose and achilles. the achilles is new so im keeping my fingers crossed. im thinking of adding a naso sp. tang or possibly a bristletooth.

i previously had a powder blue who was an absolute terror. even after moving tanks he would not leave the black tang alone. i gave him to a lfs and he was sold to a church ( i think) with a 500g tank. he proceeded to harass the yellow tangs that where larger and more established.

purple tangs have a similar dispostition in the respect that most are very aggressive but some are fine.

the key i believe to this particular equation is the size of the new tang. i'd go with a very small one if you want to try it. the tangs that you have are not aggressive so they should leave the new addition alone. this is all assuming that you bioload can handle 3 tangs and that obviously is up to your filtration set up.
