I want to put my carpets in first, but worried. What to do?

The new tank is a little more than half way filled (probably around 200-250 gallons of water in right now)with a skimmer running and several power heads going. All new live sand was used and all NSW was used. About 2 cups of sand from the current dt was added 5 or so days ago to help seed the new live sand. Around 150+ pounds of live rock from established systems have been added along with around 80 lbs of cleaned dry rock so far. There are mushrooms and palys on a lot of the rock. 60 lbs of cured rock from systems was placed 3 days ago and the other 90+ was put in last night. There has been no cycle so far and I do not think there will be one (it should be relatively small if there is).

There is no ammonia, no nitrite etc. All parameters are in check.

I am worried about my carpets though in case there ends up being some kind of a cycle. I want to get them in first and situated before any fish are transferred (I also want to transfer the fish slowly, maybe one every few days if I am able to). I have a bottle of Dr. Tim's One and Only and am debating whether or not I should put it in/ if it would even help. (There are no fish right now, just crabs).

Should I be ok putting them in or should I wait. I really do not like having to move them to another tank because so many things could go wrong.

if i were you, I'd wait a week or two and let the tank sit. Maybe toss in some CUC to check. Doesn't sound like you are in a rush to transfer things.

I'm going through exactly the same scenario. I'm choosing to wait a couple of weeks to introduce the nems to the new system, even though everything used was from my old system. I just want the tank to settle a bit.

I think I am going to wait a bit longer. I know theoretically it should be fine, but I don't want to take that risk. I have about 30-40 blue legs in now. Hopefully will get more soon and will get them in.

Any point in putting that Dr. Tim's one and only in or only once there is fish? (Figured it would be a boost to help out a little).

Also, that carpet I have been keeping in qt... Ammonia is showing up. I have kept up with water changes and did 100% change today and tested again later and ammonia is still showing up (~0.25). I put in an algone pack to try and help, but is this carpet releasing ammonia from stress? He's been fine for weeks and now this is starting all of a sudden. I do not feed at all when in qt
