what is the 4th picture? kinda looks like a crab to me?
and what type of palys are those? i've gota few and I'm trying toget an id.;)
thanks!

The fourth picture is a top down shot of acropora valida, thank you for the kind words, it has been a long road of recovery for my tank. Ill dig up an old fts and take a new one when the lights come on. It still saddens me to see pictures of it in its glory compared to what it is now. Still no solid evidence of what happened but I believe it was an anemone nuke. The tank was neglected while I planned and executed the renovations for the fish room, and the anemone split rapidly, so I don't know how many there actually were and would have never known if one died,I can say that the stink was one of the worst things I have had the pleasure of smelling and simple chores like draining the skimmer cup turned into choking, gagging and holding my breath to get thru it.

New: the blurry spots are dying bryopsis that i havent siphoned out yet. I ran out of salt water and a new batch is almost ready.

Old:you can see some subtle differences between the two old shots; I am a bull in a china shop when it comes to my rock and can never get it back where it was so inevitably things get moved around "on accident"

I was inspired this morning by the sunrise in my tank so I took a picture, Tis nothing spectacular but it gives a good idea of how much real sun the back side gets. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1366585532.372079.jpg

I think we may have met once at abcreefs a few years ago.If so, are those the same clownfish you picked up then? They look nice nonetheless.

Best wishes with everything.

-Steve

Thank you. Yes they are the same ones. I had a pair of black ocellaris and the female was a total jerk! I could put my hand in the farthest corner of the tank from the anemone and she would come all the way over to attack, these guys went into the nem the first night I had them and they go on the defensive and watch me closely but havent ever attempted to strike. They are beautiful fish and everyone who comes over loves them.

Ok, I thought so but I didnt recognize your user name at first.I remember now ,you & nirvanafan.

The pair of clownfish have they spawned yet? I have a common pair and the male seems to be, quite the biter of the pair. I had a couple pairs of gobies ,and a pair of Hefrichi firefish that all seem to die of misterious circumstances after my clownfish began spawning. I hadn't noticed the eggs or unusual harrassment going on,and I can't prove it by any means but after no issues or deaths in 2 years, then suddenly all the of them died in just a few weeks of each other makes me wonder.
I don't know what the odds of a fish running into a bristleworm facefirst, accidently are.

-Steve

Firefish, not surprised. With the way that they bolt into their holes, they are susceptible to that kind of thing.
