I went a little over board with LA/DD order.

So I ordered a 4-5 small fish including a clown to replace the other that got swallowed.

And, ordered a couple Nems, green bubble tip, and a blue tip Sebae.

Now I have a 40g breeder setup and cycled as a quarantine tank, if cipro is needed can it be done safely with fish present?

I think so, but I'm not positive. Some fish may not tolerate well.

the fish will be fine, but keep in mind that it's an additional source of ammonia for your nems. It's pretty hard keeping water conditions pristine as it is since there is no filtration. Also, another thing to keep in mind is that although no harm will occur to the fish per se with the cipro, it's not a good idea to put a perfectly heathly fish with antibiotics when they don't need it only because it could cause buildup of bacteria resistance to it.

Cipro is broad spectrum and may also effect the normal microflora of the fish which could negatively impact the fish's health but I doubt the fish will suffer any major consequences just as when we use antibiotics ourselves.

Also can decrease the number of nitrifying bacteria that filter your tank.

Thinking about splitting the Nems out if they need to be treated. Too many variables to quarantine in the same place.

It is always best not to use antibiotic unless needed. Fish with a full compliment of "good" bacterial in their gut will more likely to be affect negatively by long term antibiotic. As far as I know, Anemone does not really have a area in their body that have high concentration of bacterial. Because of this an anemone is likely to be less affected negatively by antibiotic. Zooxanthallae are not affected by Cipro, Septra.

Yeah, looking at Cipro specifically it can have very strong side effects including tendon rupture. Who knows what else is going on with the fish.

I fairly sure the fish isn't going to get tendinitis, I'm more concerned of unknown side effects.

Just easier to move the Nems into another container to treat.

Just to update, got both Nems this morning, no tears and they are both attaching.

The Crispa may slightly be gaping and does look bleached, if he looks the same tomorrow I'll treat him.

All the fish are doing great.
