all Acanthastrea are well known to digest neighbors that are too close.

Hydnophora can do this as well.

When I read 'echinata' I was thinking 'Acropora'. I'm sure that I wasn't the only one thinking this way

Ok define close Gary. I just moved mine away from a chalice that is down current from it thinking the chalice would be the one to do damage with its long sweepers if it was the one up current. It was about 11/2" from it and is now its about 4" away.

When I read 'echinata' I was thinking 'Acropora'. I'm sure that I wasn't the only one thinking this way

I don't know if 4" is far enough. Maybe someone else reading the thread has experience with this.
