I have a peninsula tank, so mine faces left and right
137 deg SE per iPhone
Did the retailer have a encrusting mounted colony?

I agree. My Ice Fire is the same coloration as SDguy's and prefers lower light. My Aussie Echinata, however, loves the higher light/flow and has no green in it at all.
Prior to these aussie ones coming in, you couldn't find a frag bigger than 3/4" MAX of the Icefire. Now, suddenly people are getting large, multi-branch frags?
Well here in Toronto it seems when a coral similar to a named coral comes in they just go a head and call it that. They have sold wild Aussie Echinata as IceFire Echinata. Im sure there are other stores doing the same thing.
By the way where did the orginal icefire come from?
You are probably talking about ReefRaft then (local Toronto LFS). Seems common practice to name it and raise the price. Where does the true IceFire Echinata come from?
I am attaching a pic of what they are calling an Ice Fire Echinata

Thanks for posting this pic, that is definitely not a Tyree Ice Fire Echinata, and is definitely a Aussie Echinata (structurally grows more branchy)
