i picked up an icefire coral yesterday and Ive read a lot on this coral and a lot of reefers say its a hard coral to keep and very sensitive. anyone have any info on this coral. hoping to keep it growing strong!

Hey Steve,
I have some Hawkin's echinata- don't know how different they are in terms of care but mine has done best in high flow and medium or high light. It gets better coloration lower but better growth higher up. I haven't found it to be too sensitive.

I don't know designer names. Ill say that up front.
I had Hawkins Echinata. It didn't look like a "true" Echinata to me but who cares- it was an easy low maintenance Acro.
I also had a "true" Echinata. It came from Dick Perrin.
This was an extremely difficult Acro to grow.
It looked identical to Veron's pictures of the species.
If I'm correct, "ice fire" might be an entirely different species than Hawkins.
