GREAT IDEA DAVE!!!
I don't really have any desire for another wipe... and even if I had a generator, it would cost me $30 - $45 a day to run...
I live right in middle of town (just 2 blocks N of intersection of Sunshine and National).
If anyone needs a place to plug in a pump, light, and/or heater - I will allow anyone to bum power offa me if you wanna throw your livestock in a rubber-maid - this is, of course, assuming my power remains uninterrupted :bum:
my phone number is #3$4#3*8^6%5$4 taking out the symbols - call if you lose power.
One thing I learned from the tragic events of round one was that CIRCULATION was priority one - not heat (as I assumed). Perhaps if I had ran two medium sized power-heads instead of a heater and a TINY power-head, I would've had less loss.
Also, O'Reilly's carries several cheap models and you get the quality you'd expect from such a low-price... but they also will get you power for your tank - and maybe enough to recharge a laptop or something...
As for the storm round 2... I say it'll get nasty - but all the big crap that would fall and knock over power lines already did during storm 1... I hope I am right.
I also wanna say I heard an advertisement for this thing called a guardian generator - when your power goes out, this ting switches ON and used your home's natural gas to power a generator - the ad said it was as big as a central air unit and prices started at $1700... I obviously can't justify this price - but those whose tanks also function as a business/side income/investment may want to google it or something... I heard the radio ad back during my blackout period back during storm 1 - so I apologize if my memory is poor...
