Ich issues

My 2 clowns have never gotten ich however all the fish I introduce seems to get an outbreak with 2 days and dies within 2 weeks. I know I should have QT all fish but that is besides the point right now. My question is if I wait 8 weeks and introduce new fish would ich still be present since my clowns are immune to them? If not, hyposalinity or raise temp is only option for me as tank is fully stocked with corals-inverts. What to do? Thanks for responding

It looks like your clowns are resistant but carriers of the parasite.
You need to clean them up with TTM and let the display tank go fallow for 11 weeks before even thinking about buying more fish.

Only way I can tell was visual. it was either marine velvet or ich in my opinion. wish it wasn't the case. These fish ate until day they died. Never got over ich infestation. Guess the clowns were the host entire time-

Based on the mortality time line, it sounds like velvet. Some fish develop immunity to velvet (which lasts about six months) but are still carriers. If it were velvet, the fish that perished would have been reclusive in the last 3-4 days of their life and tend to hang near the water returns.

That was exactly what took place. I had male and female BT trigger as well as Kole tang and they did this behavior before expiring. They wedged self in rocks . I also looking back never saw them rub on rocks like ich typically would generate. The BT triggers lasted 2 weeks but never had spots come off--became worse as time went on.. Is velvet treatment options the same as ich ? Thanks

Best recommended treatment for velvet is chloroquine phosphate. Velvet fallow time is 6 weeks. See my blog for information.

woke us this morning now with my last 2 fish in tank (pair of clowns) having this. Thought they were fine since they never got this infection or at least showed sihns of it. apparently wrong. now to capture them and go fishless for many months then QT from this point on. Lesson learned

Fallow period for velvet is six weeks.

sounds like I dont need to do anything to DT for those 6 weeks then I can bring in QT fish back into system. Appreciate all the advice from everyone

It could also be brook - though treatment and fallow are pretty much the same.

I would give them a 30 to 45 minute formalin bath (20 drops of 37% formalin per gallon) and then put them into a clean tank. Either repeat this every 3 days for 2 weeks or dose the clean tank with CP (Ich Shield powder)

Just to be sure you do not also have ich, go fallow for 72 days. While you are doing this, set up a ttm and qt procedure for all new fish and you should be disease free going forward.

Best of luck
