ICH or am I paranoid???

I wish there was a definitive YES or NO on ICH. Hubby just had to have a hippo tang. He arrived and was absolutely the best specimen I had ever seen. Due to a screw up on our part upgrading from 90 to 300, I was unable to use 90 as holding tank. I shook my head as I added him to 300 DT. Everyday I watch him and the others for signs of illness and I am beginning to wonder if my eyes are playing tricks on me. Friday it will be 3 weeks and all fish are happy and eating like piggies. I upped feeding and they get a good variety. 1 week into stay hippo developed bump under skin looked almost like a pimple but no white, 2 weeks later same spot same size. Other tank inhabitants PB, Sailfin, Naso, 2 clown, Coral beauty, 2 chromis & foxface all seem fine but I swear I can almost see 2 spots on 1 Naso fin. All eyes are clear, no labored breathing.

I have read and researched everything I can find but can't find a definitive answer as to when will I know for sure if ich has invaded?

If the bump has persisted for two weeks, it's not crypto (ich). Crypto spots are transitory, and will come and go every 3-7 days, give or take. Hard to say what the bump is, but if the fish is behaving normally and eating, I would simply observe at this point.

not ich, ich by now would have had the poor fish be full of them and they would not stay in the same spot for 2 weeks. one of my fish gets that he will get a bump that will stay anywhere form a few weeks to a month then start to go away for months its always in the same spot

and if it was ich that's by far not the worse thing that can happen to a tank ich doesn't really kill the fish fast at all

Probably worms, something like flukes. If it was brook or velvet your fish would be goers already. Are your fish scratching their sides against the rocks?

I had this same situation happen and it was flukes.

Ich is like an alien sighting - if you have an outbreak, it will be glaringly obvious. Ich will manifest as salt sprinkles, so if it's not that it's not ich.
