Ich or not?

I picked up a new six line wrasse today at the lfs. As it was temperature acclimating my wife asked me about "the funny white spots" on its back.

I wasn't planning on putting it in a QT but after a comment like that I quickly threw one together while trying to figure it out.

What do you think Ich or not?

spots too big for ich, looks like torn scales to me. If they weren't there when you picked up, I would suspect something rubbed against its body and damaged some scales. But still quarantine the fish.

ok...we didn't notice anything at the store so maybe the scales tore in the bag on the way home. I didn't look very close after the salesman picked him up either though.

Turned out to be flukes. I went back to the LFS and they taught me how and showed me fresh water dipping. Unfortunately this guy didn't make it but they gave me a replacement which was nice of them.

Friendly reminder- Freshwater dip is a temporary relief. It need to be treated with meds, i.e. Prazi-Pro for flukes.
+1 and always quarantine.
However I never had luck using prazi with wrasses. attempted it twice and both times the fish was doing great in qt and after the first dose of prasi, they would stop eating and lay side ways and then die while other fish in the same qt have no issues. I just gave up on getting one. I have read that they can be very sensitive to it.
