Ich or velvet?

Hey guys my poor little clown is having some issues. At first she wouldn't eat and then I wake up this morning and I see this on her tail and by her head. They have had battle scars that's come and gone but nothing like this. Everything else in the tank has been fine though.

Having real trouble making anything out in the pictures. Clowns are notorious for having Brook, and roughly 75% of all fish come in with flukes, so I would suspect one or both of those

Are we looking at the big white blotch on the tail? If so, that doesn't appear to be a parasite issue. Ich looks like salt sprinkled on the fish. Marine Velvet will kill in days if not sooner. I have had my issues with marine velvet and a bad LFS... Should this turn to be something you need to treat do you have a QT system to utilize?

Ich or velvet?

These fish have been a part of my systems for over a year. The last addition was 3 peppermint shrimp about two weeks ago.

Both clowns have had spots similar to this before but always came with damaged fins or tail and would go away in 24 hours or less. Appetites for them have always been great for them until now. She's on day 4 of not eating but visual signs only showed today.

The fish is not eating and the white spot is on her tail. What you see is the spot and not a part of her markings. It looks like a raised dot of salt creep and around her face and gills looks more powdery

Powdery around the mouth or is it the orange becoming more pale? Regardless, I would get all the fish to a QT and prepare to treat them. Something is going on. Cant quite tell with the pictures you took. The issues I have dealt with recently was marine velvet and the area around the clowns mouth became pale. Then it went down hill from there... I can't say it is that so don't get alarmed. Are they swimming into the water coming out of the powerhead? How long ago did you add the shrimp? Not eating, then you will have to treat in the water, in a QT. Do you have a QT to use?

I do have one yes. Truthfully the spot didn't worry me as I have seen them before but she's not eating and then she has this white powder stuff around her mouth and gills that showed up. All together raised alarms for me. I'm ready to set up QT but I didn't know what to treat her for.

I have melafix on hand as well

I would treat with Paraguard. As long as they aren't experiencing any respiratory issues. Like gills sticking out of side of body or swimming into powerhead to get more water flow.
Paraguard can treat a wide spectrum of things. The other route is Cupramine and PraziPro.

If you use Paraguard, use an airstone as well.

She doesn't seem to be experiencing any of that. Just not eating and the spots. I have a mated pair, would you QT them together? I wouldn't think I could dose the tank? I have inverts to and corals

Just checking to see if you got the fish into QT and started treatment? How are they doing?

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. Tapatalk can get cluttered. I haven't QT'd just yet but it's probably going to get set up now. I got some paraguard and noticed I could dip. I did that and the white spots were gone and she perked up. She has eat a tiny bit but not like usual.

Just today I noticed the spots came back and I did another dip. I noticed when I do the dip, she's very unstable for a while after placing her back in the tank. This time has lasted longer than the first...So yeah, hospital will be set up for sure now. Why would this only effect one fish? More importantly WHAT IS IT?

The best I can tell anyone is the pics I shared before is what it is. They spots come, fall off, heal, and she gets it again. This has gone on a while now with no effect on the fish. Until now. Now she isn't eating and hiding all the time. I'm dying inside because I don't know how to treat her. The paraguard dips obviously have not worked.

If you dip and put back in tank the fish will just get reinfected. A dip is only effective when dipped and put in a QT tank for the first time. Even then a parasite isn't 100% gone. Still have to treat the water.
