Ich question

So I got a Blue Hippo Tang the other day. I acclimated for 2 hours by drip line. All was fine the fish is social towards my Tomato Clowns and eating flake and frozen foods. Today I noticed a spec that looks like Ich. I do not have a heater they are on order now of course but can I add anything else that won't effect macro algae and the pods that are living in the macro?

Are you sure its Ich? One speck could just be debris/sand stuck to his slime coat, Lympho, or something else other than Ich.

With a blue hippo tank that didn't go through a proper quarantine, ick is a high likelihood.
Observation is a good idea, but Kick-Ick is unlikely to have much effect if it is truly Cryptocayon. In that case, you and the fish are better served with an actually effective treatment (copper, hypo) in a hospital tank.
TTM works as well, but that is what you should have done before you added the fish to your display tank.

I have a hippo tang that shows a sign of ich, off and on, for about a year. I've never seen any signs of it on my other fish. Have been contemplating trying to catch it and treat it somehow when I upgrade my landscaping.

It is a good idea during the acquisition of fish phase---to go over to Fish Diseases in Reef Central and familiarize yourself with the articles over there. Ich is best handled through tank transfer method. You run a risk to the whole tank every time you get a new fish, because there is pretty well no cure suitable for the display tank---you can read up on it all over there, and forewarned is forearmed.
