Hi All. Recently added a yellow eye kole tang to QT, seems healthy and eats well but he's got these lumps in his dorsal fin.....hard to see in the pic but they look to be "inside" not "on" the fin. Any input as to what type of parasite I'm dealing with and what to treat with? Will be proactively dosing prazipro once he settles in for a few days. Then I usually do copper but this is my first tang and I'm kinda scared to do copper with a tang....

Thanks for any help, Bryan

Nice kole, I'm not seeing the lumps you are talking about, though the fins look ragged. They ought to heal over fairly quickly...

As far as the copper goes, don't worry about using it on tangs. IME most tangs handle it very well, and I have run all of mine (including a kole) through cupramine.

Thanks for the input, I'm not too worried about the ragged fins either but I wish I could get a better pic as it's really hard to see what I'm talking about but he's not overly co-operative....it's actually closer to the base of the dorsal fin but appears to be growing underneath the skin of the fin not on the surface of it. You can still see the fishes patterns over top of the lumps, if that makes any sense.....
Just hoping someone may have dealt with something that sounds like that out there.
Thanks, Bryan

Lympho can look the way that you're describing, though usually it will appear on the pectoral fins first. I would just continue with your treatment plan and keep an eye on it.
