Hey guys, I've just noticed a strange worm like thing taking up residence on my glass. Its in the corner behind some rocks so I really can't get a pic of it (digicam doesnt like the angle through the corner) so I'll have to try and describe it.

Its bleach white in color, mabe 1 mm in diaeter and LONG. Its coiled up in a back and forth pattern (almoast like a small intestine), but its prolly around 8-12 inches long if you streched it to its full length. Doesnt seem to be much of anything at the head or tail though. The best way I can describe it is a tapeworm thats 1mm in diameter.

Any ideas

is it moving, or could it be a string of snail eggs? I have had my snails lay out zig zagging strings of eggs that looked very worm like until I found out what they were.

Is it like this?

probably those little white spiral worms that are usually found in a sump or on pumps and anyother places that dont get cleaned much. I have a ton of them in my sump and they are pretty hard but do scrape off. Im not sure the name of these worms but they are harmless

Guy, Yes only one tentacle

M-fine, could be since it hasn't moved in days. I do have a lot of snails in the tank too :)

Stephany, looks nothing like that, think small intestine :D

Hound, this thing doesnt actually spiral, it more zig-zags than anything.

Thanks for the thoughts so far, anybody else have ideas?
