This seahorse came in on some Gorgonians from Vietnam. I thought it was an Erectus, but the locals here think not. Looked through a seahorse book, and didn't id it from there.

Any thoughts? It hasn't cooperated to get a full body shot, but I'll try if need be.

not sure but it has great colors. have you been able to get it to eat frozen? did you buy from lfs or was it a awesome hitch hiker ?

By no means am I a seahorse professional, but I keep three erectus seahorses. It definatley looks erectus imo.

I thought it was Erectus as well, but others say no. Hmmmm...

It came in a gorgonian shipment at my LFS. I took it home since I have the capability to care for it, so an awesome hitchhiker!!

Hard to tell, but 1-2? They're not very distinct.

H. erectus are not found in Vietnam to the best of my knowledge.
Also, because it is so immature, it makes it more difficult even than if it was adult to try to identify.

It isn't an erectus. I'm 100% sure of that.

Possibly a Hippocampus comes. I'm not certain by any means.

It looks just like a baby kuda or kellogi to me.

I thought kuda based on body, mine are more striped than spotted and they have more of a bump on their head but it does look close to the picture six line posted. And nice to meet you weicheng.

I thought kuda because of the white. My erectus never turned white, but my kuda is white most of the time. The spots are cool.
