ID please - Pineapple?

Please help us identify our new coral. We bought this a couple of days ago. The store owner called it a Pineapple Coral and told us that it needed to be placed on a rock and not in the sand. Other than that, he didn't know much about it. Here is a picture from the store before we bought it:

Here is a picture in our tank yesterday, it has opened up nicely:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks kinda like a Galaxy Coral to me, but I'm not 100%.

And by galaxy, they mean Galaxea sp. Nice looking coral!

looks like a Galaxy Coral but if thats the case u might want to find a better place for it cause its sweepers can get pretty long

I second the Hydnophora. Keep away from your other corals, thier sting is potent.

K in order to tell if its a Hydnophora as some have said or Galaxea as others look at the body its self if it looks as though it is made up of individual stalks its a Galaxea if it apears smooth its hydnophora

I think you might be right madness but itd take alot of guessing work out if we could see some of the skeletal structure/shape, hydnaphoras are pretty distinctual in that regard.

Now it is undoubtedly a hydnophora Notice the pyramid shapes of coralites rising from the surface, thats distinctive of this genus

Beautiful specimen, and very 'hot' toward other corals. Give it enough clearance, and congratulations on a neat find.
