found this tonight and would like to know what it is. Seems like it's easier to post here for an answer rather than spending hours searching the web. Many thanks in advance.

so....that's what happened to my clam. Will it eat anything else? I don't have any clams anymore. After the first one just dissolved overnight I was scared to try another one. Good thing I didn't get another one . Thanks for the info. I've search alot of polyclad flatworms since your first post and there are bunches.

there are hundreds of polyclads. I'm sure some have yet to be discovered. Gastropods and bivalves are at risk from these fellas.

Who knows what else a large hungry polyclad migh tackle......

Thanks alot Gary. Thinking i'll just flush it. My sister(she's a reefer too) wanted me to put it in the 28g and see what happens, there isn't much in there except 2 RBTA and some zoos nothing special tho and a couple of hermits. What do you think Gary? Flush away?

I don't like to recommend killing anything since EVERYTHING has a place in nature.

HOWEVER... in a closed system such as a reef aquarium sometimes the aquarist must intervene.

Many will read what I posted but few will truly understand.

I totally understand "nature taking it's course" I've not been in the hobby but lil over a year and when I've experienced a lost of something like my clam, I didn't get to upset and when I saw a hermit killing another for it's shell...I just told my hubby that's what happens in the real world of the ocean. I guess I kinda look at it like...we kill and eat living things to survive and shouldn't expect enything less of other living things.
Thanks so very much for all your help Gary :) I love RC and those who are always glad to give advice and or help.
