Im not sure what they are but definately not purple hornets.Yeah, I hear ya on the naming game it has its plus and minus side to it.

:lmao: yup. didnt think they were either. thanks by the way. how is your tank doing. i just set up my 40g frag tank and have ordered over a 1000 poylps of zoas and palys. I also got me a brand new dremel, with a diamond tip. ill send you pics so you can have first choice on the frag swap. i know how your a zoa fan and you can let me know if i got a good deal on ebay. best wishes and if anyone else in interested in seeing ill post a thread later.

thanks brandon

how are you certain. i have found at least 10 different picture for the name. not to be rude just an curious. is there a zoanthid wikipedia or some way to reference the name of every type or is there just what the common consensus is.

~ Brandon.

I think what M. salty was refering to was a site documenting the morphs of some of the well known Zooanthids.I think you have to submit a photo for reviewal.I know a couple of the members here (rochester area) mentioned they did that a few months ago maybe they could chime in on how that works.Ty-dye palys from my bad memory.

You can create a free account at photobucket.com, resize, edit and store photos there.
Probably the most user friendly ,too.

Glad you got a deal from ebay but that can be unrelibale ,IME.Lots of polyps their.Certainly shows generosity, the offer and I hope you get whats advertised.I have found local outfits will match online prices without the risk also, I like to think I'm supporting local business whenever I can. Sorta stems from my upbringing and occupation.I haven't been to Rochester to check out the scene but definately on my list for a trip .More so now that I know a few of the responding members here are actually store owners.
Way cool of you to offer the pics, much appreaciated, hope to see you at the swap.-Steve

yea watertown has a petco and small petstore that runs individual 20g not linked. they also use some generic lights so the zoas do not even open. i have to admit i just cant spend 50 bucks on something thats dying and that i cant even see. also i was at fairmont aq and spent 200 in corals. this is a business that is about show and allure, at least it is for me to consider buying. until this forum didnt even know of abc reef which im excited about. i have medical appoint in syracuse on monday and will visit the stores.

brandon

is there any other reef stores in syracuse

...........mmmmm,it could actually hurt my business by giving an honest answer here if you really knew so, I will only say the guys at abc are the only reef supply in syracuse I will publicly speak highly of.

FWIW~ I have no affiliation, get any discount or benefit from saying so.Just from one reefkeeper to another, ime.

I understand and agree wholeheartly what your saying about petco. This stuff is not cheap by any means and you should be able to talk with a person who has atleast general knowledge and see a healthy animal if your expected to pay for something.

 thanks well i allways judge for myself and am definitly looking forward to stepping into a new reef store. its just something i love doing, when you know the employee's by name it gets a little less thrilling.
