Keep em out!

Keep em out!

mantis shrimp, looks like a clubber so i wouldnt keep him in a reef setup

You got him out keep him out. It will go after Snails crabs and fish. Do a you tube search on mantis shrimp and you'll see what they are capable of.

small smashers will avoid all but the smallest of fish, post in the mantis forum if you want a species id, I'm thinking N. wennerae

I wouldnt bother putting it in the sump. try pming one of the mantis people on here to see if they want it.

I think all species of mantis shrimps have a spear-like appendage to attack targets. I'm not sure which species it is, but I've heard that one of the species has a strike so hard, its like a 0.22 caliber bullet and can shatter thinner glass. They pack a TREMENDOUS punch and I always tell scuba divers not to pick them up with their hands, if one were able to do that. Pretty cool looking guy too!!

Now that I have checked it out on the tube . I hate it even more . I am in NY . Come and get it . It has 5 days to live .
