I'm wondering if anyone can help me id this for me, and should I get it out ASAP or is it nothing to worry about. I know it's a bad picture I was in a rush to take with my phone.

kind of looks like a barnacle. Does the outer part stay in place, or does the whole critter move around?

From that angle it looks more like a chiton.
