Hello all I read through a bunch of the stickies and stuff and am still trying to figure out what this piece is.. Picked it up from a friend today.. The first thing I noticed was all the noduling at the base where it encrusted.. The second is the colour.. It looked green in the bag but after my lights turned on it turned very whitish.. The person I got it from said depending on my water conditions it would turn from a medium green to an almost white.. When I first put it in it was very green.. After the lights turn on for 20 minutes or so it turned this whitish colour..

Found some info.. Looks like Montipora Capitata.... Kinda similar at least....

It is a monti for sure & M. capitata is a good guess

The growth structure is just so irregular.. The bottom reminds me of verracosa. The branching structure is just so weird.. Not very typical of eachother...

IME M.verrucosa is more bumpy and irregular. I have some MV but the branching is like columns

I got the same one in my tank. Its bigger now this picture is kinda old. Hope this helps
