I was recently given this sps by a fellow reefer because it was dying in his tank. I would like to start by saying that I know absolutely NOTHING about sps, I have never considered getting any so I never bothered looking into getting one. The first picture was taken the night I got it, about 30 mins after it was tossed into my tank.

About half an hour after dropping it into the tank (November 1st):

Tonight (November 12):

Can anyone start by telling me the name of this coral?

My tank is only a Biocube 14, with 24 watts of actinic and 24 watts of 10k, I was always under the impression that this would never be an acceptable amount of light for any sps, but the guy that gave me this coral told me otherwise. Can anyone confirm this, or deny this?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated; any generalized tips are welcome, as I have absolutely no idea as to what I am doing with sps.

Does the frag look like its doing better or getting worse?

Side note. Other livestock in the tank includes:

Many shrooms
Many zoas
Frogspawn
Xenia
Gsp
Kenya tree
Pair of clowns
Damsel
Hermits
Snails

Very hard to tell from the picture. My first reaction is a receeding goniopora(lps)aka flower pot but the branching type.If it's a goniopora,it needs moderate light and low flow but with the degree of damage it will probably die soon.
It could also be a hdynopora that has browned out(they are usually green) from low light or nutrients. If hydnopora moderate to high light l and low to moderate flow and it may survive. The hydnopora is an sps.

At first the polyps almost looked like a Montipora or Stylophora, but then you can see the axial corallites in the first pic and longer tentacles in the second pic so it must be an Acropora. As for the species, I have no idea. It looks like it's improving, but you may need more light to get any color or decent growth out of it. Give it lots of water flow and slowly move it towards the top of the tank for best health.
