I added some live rock to my tank this weekend.

Can you help me ID the 4-5 quarter sized guys on the left side of the rock? Thanks

Here is a better picture. They range from dime to quarter size, and move around on the rock:

...Also, I could use an ID on this other one below:

They look like the majano anemone and the white thing might be a sponge. I am pretty sure those anemones are majano...google it.

Are they dangerous to my fish/corals, or just a pest because they multiply quickly???

Can anyone share any more info on the white sponge??
Good? Bad? How big will it get?

They can kill your corals. If left unchecked you will have a tank full of them and no corals.

I added a Copperband Butterfly last night to try to control the pest anemones. Let's see if he does his job.

Oh those copperbands are pretty. I'm not sure if the majano is on their menue though. If the copperband doesn't do anything about them. You could remove the rock and put it in a small tank filled with saltwater. I put my aptasia in my ten gallon for a couple of months. The only things that were in there was amphipods, macroalgae I'm growing and the rock with aptasia. Since I don't feed that tank..the aptasia starved to death.

For the bottom pic, maybe a tethra sponge. I've had them reach out like that and release smaller ones.

The copper banded butterfly has rid the entire tank of ALL pest anemones!!!!
