Picture sucks, sorry. I thought this was a piece of dead coral. It was attached to a sponge when it came with my live rock. It fell off and I set it back on the rock the other day for no reason, and then I noticed it moved a few inches. I assumed a crab moved it. Then it had moved a few more inches, and last night it fell into the sand.

The white is hard and porous like a dead coral. There appear to be some "things" sticking out on one side now (it is not a hermit in a new home) that i did not notice before. The coral piece is shaped like an ear and is about the size of a quarter.

try and put it next to th glass of your tank to get a better picture. and maybe someone can help then..... good luck on finding out what it is.

And use the macro function on the camera... its the little tulip setting on most point and shoots

Thanks Angela, I didn't know that maybe now i can get a decent picture! Learn something new every day.
