Hello comunity of Reefcentral,

Have got hitchhicker with cultured corals from Bali, seems to be not algae thing (imho)?.
Any ideas what is it?
Spreading by spliting, visible harmless, photosintetic, just overloading my mini reef.

Thanks in advance

looked throw but didn't find anything like it.
(IMHO) not theese ones, no visible filtering holes, when lights turn off, size decreases twice.
Maybe another ideas?

anyway, thanks for reply

welcome to the boards. Really interesting creatures you've got there they almost look like some type of flatworm to me. Obviously they aren't if they don't move. Never seen anything like them.

Dainius - would you send me a high res file of your image? I'd like to get a closer look at this creature.

They are free swiming, just anchor with some kind of 'legs'

Dainius - thanks for the images. This is certainly interesting. After looking at them I have to disagree with Mike. They look much more like cnidarian polyps to me. Mike (greenbean) why don't you PM Dainius your email so he can send you the hi-res files as well. The big files show internal structure unlike any sponge as well as capitate tentacles. Tunicates might be another possibility but the tentacles don't fit that phylum.

The inset picture looks like colonial tunicates to me. However, I'm not sure about those on the glass.
Cheers

The problem is that I cannot decide what kind of animal it is :)
I agree that it can bee cnidarians, but disagree that it is sponges or tunicates.
It was necessary to clean the frags some time ago...when I was thinking that it is some algae thing...
By the way help please :)

P.S. romunov look PM
