ID question... Is this Aptasia?

I have a Acan frag with about 5 heads and coming out from between the acans base and the frag plug itself is this... Picture will probably be the best way to describe it, so here you go..

I also have another picture of what I think is the same thing popping out of my rock in misc places across the tank now.. Here's some pics of that too..

And what the heck, since I am in a picture posting mood.. Check out my sand.. I clean this up by siphoning it right out of the tank.. It grows back in a day or two.. Is it normal? How can I get it to stop growing so fast..

Here's my setup..

70 gallons
Water parameters are all in check
Low bioload.. Yellow Tang, Purple Firefish, Cleaner Shrimp, and a small dragonet..

I'm a little new to all of this as it is my first tank, but I feel confident in most all I am doing, just lots of new things to me here..

I'll add a full tank shot as well..

Thanks for all your help!

aiptasia. many people advise using aiptasia X or joes juice, but whenever i see aiptasia on a frag i just get 3-4 peppermint shrimp and they have always done the job for me.
and i do also love the rockwork

Okay, one peppermint shrimp coming up..

How about that pic of the sand?
I can completely siphon a fine layer of sand out and take it all with it and it comes back in a day or two.. normal?

Completely normal. It's diatoms with what looks like a bit of cyano as well. Just give it time, it will go away soon. If you wanted though you could add something that will stir your sand for you. Be it a serpent star(mine is always on the sand), cucumber, conch, nassarius snails.

if you want to save a few dollars, try one of the 3:

1.; There's a recipe here
2.: Squirt lemon juice on his face.
3. put a small glass of water in the microwave until is boiling. squirt the thing with a syringe.

you don't need to inject the sucker, just to squirt in front of him. he'll swallow it.
number 1 is the recipe for joe's juice. if you do kalkwasser you'll have the lime.

kill these bastards. i hate them as much as the red slime.

or maybe more. i don't know.

Nothing is 100% on these pests use or get whatever you can ..Aiptasia X, Pep shrimps ,Berghia nudibranchs copperbanded butterfly fish.. read as much as you can.. get to know your enemy.. you are going to hear all the same things about ridding them some may work for you and some won't.. Good luck!!

Red slime is a walk in the park Compared to Aiptasia

the stuff on you sand is a mix of diatoms (brown) and cyanobacteria (red) both parts of the natural maturation of the tank, a real pain in the a$$ though, are you using RODI water? this will make the algae cycle pass by quicker, just wait it out, took me abot 3 months

My tank is roughly 3 months old..

Rocks are begininng to get specs of Coralline growth all over the place. (Thank you Coralline covered hermits) I'll attach a pic of this, can you guys confirm and answer the algae vs. coralline question below..

They also have a bright green covering of algae on them, in some spots some darker red/brown spots (no pic), the green I attribute to the light and wasn't overly concerned as it grows very slowly and does not appear to be harmful to anything, these darker spots seem to be just starting to pop up and look like they could become a nuisance...
Someone told me that he didn't think the coralline will grow over that algae.. Do you think it will or will not take control? This is the same guy that told me this was not aptasia as well...

Also, Worried about spraying lemon juice or boiling water near acans.. is this a valid concern?

I already went through one cyano outbreak.. But that one was more glass and rock related.. Green algae so dense you almost couldn't see through the glass. It loved the glass the most, it covered the rocks quite a bit as well, but left the sand alone.. THis outbreak leaves the glass alone but is attacking the sand and a little bit of the rock.. mostly down low where the sand and rock meet. Ideas.. How many more freakin' outbreaks do I have to go through?!?!? Water has become ever increasingly more cloudy too.. Water changes only help for a day and don't even clear it completely..

Skimming is going well, photo period down to 2 t5's for about 6 hours. It's not backing off though.. I hate algae.. I want my crystal clear snad back.. Or the wife does anyways.. I kinda like the color, just hate the cloudy water going with it.

for the aiptasia near the acan try covering it with a small sea shell and wait for it to move inside the shell and transport him out of the tank

NatuReef "Reef Former Concentrate".
When you buy it, it will have separated. The sludge at the bottom of the bottle is what you want to use.

Turn off all pumps for 15-20 minutes (total).
Take a syringe with a fairly large opening (too thick for a needle), catch them with their mouths open, fill their mouths. They will withdraw from the 12.8 PH of this stuff. After they withdraw fill the hole they are in.
Gone.

Just don't go ape or you can throw your parameters out.
