New tank only set up for a about 2 weeks. The rock is BRS Pukani. I cured the rock for about 2 months to lower phosphates while I purchased all my equipment.

Tank is a 120 gallon 4x2x2
Emerald 39 sump
ATI sun power dimmable t5 lights
My levels are:
Mag = 1320
Alk = 9dkh
Calcium = 420
Phosphates = 0.00ppm / 9ppb
Salinity = 1.024

Tried to get the best pics I could. It seems to be growing best where there is less light. It is def a purplish color and seems like it is a bit like velvet.

This is my first saltwater tank and the tank has only been up and running for 2 weeks

I don't see a thing other than rocks. It is probably either a sponge of some sort or perhaps Coraline algae. Either way, good stuff.

Yeah it's hard to see in the pics. But is is like a soft velvety coating. Almost looks like I have fuzzy rocks!! You can see it moving with the water flow.

It is most likely bacteria, a natural part of the tank maturing. I also see what looks like the start of some diatoms, again something to be expected in a new tank.

Yeah. I know the diatoms and I have seen corraline start in other tanks. It really looks like the beginnings of corraline, is that possible already?
