I'D this coral please

I'm pretty sure he's a Type of green leather or some sort not sure help please.I had went to a person's house to buy frog spawn and she had told me this one coral wasn't doing to good in her tank so she just gave him to me.. he seems like he's doing real good compared to when I first got him just not sure what he is.
