ID This Creature of the Night!

hollback

Team RC
I pulled this out of my tank this morning before work. It is very "flatworm" like. It is a little over 5" long and 2" wide. It isn't very stretched out in the photos. This wrinkled tissue on the edges isn't there when it's stretched out. I don't see any visable antena or eyes. Any ideas?

Woooooow... NO idea, but it never fails to amaze me what can be in our tanks and we never know...

Yeah I have teo mystery nudis in my tank as well. I can't get a good pic but it has doubled in size in a weeks time. They look pretty cool with red tips. Trying to get a good pic. Seems like alot of us have had mystery nudis show up lately, kind of odd...

It looks pretty much just like a species of Paraplanocera flatworm Ive seen hitchhike in on a few ocassions. I think theyre really cool, but the downside is that the prey on snails if I remember correctly (might be wrong about that part though)

Sweet pictures Jason. I think I may have seen it on the Sea Slug pages that ChickenCannoneer was looking at.
I'll start looking through them again. Hope he's a good thing

I had one of those just like that once. The feedback I got was a polyclad flatworm and that they can eat snails. I searched google but was never able to find a picture like it to gain any more info... There are several threads with pictures of ones just like that here on RC tho.

Yep it was on an empty turbo snail shell that was alive the previous night. He'll be heading down the toilet when I get home!

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

You know though that if there's one , there's more. Keep a lookout. This group is amazing, look how long it took to ID this thing less than 24 hrs.

Great job reef geeks

Whats more odd is if you google search polyclad flatwork you get 100 images but none that look like that, do the same search on RC and they ALL look like that...
