I found these mongoloids on my rocks and have vacated them from my tank. They reside in a small holding receptacle, alive...for now. Within this receptacle (red used solo cup) I shall keep them until further review by the esteemed jury that is you, the reefcentral browsers.

Upon deliberation my friends, please consider that 3 were found among a group of zoa's!!!

Guilty in my view!

A death in the freezer awaits all thee who threaten thy castle under the sea.

But first i need some opinions

PLEASE RESPOND SIMPLY WITH AN "A" OR "B" FROM THE FOLLOWING POSSIBLE ANSWERS

A. THE FREEZER

B. SPARE THEIR SOULS<THEY MEAN YOU NO HARM>

It does not look like any sundial snail I have seen if that is what you are thinking. I pic option C... get a pic of the group of them, cannot tell much from this pic. =)

I think you have Collonista snails in your tank. They are harmless, but they can populate the tank in large numbers. I've had up to a hundred or more of these snails in my tank at times. Their population varies. As mentioned in the article linked by Dave413, they can compete with other critters like pods for detritus. Overall, I haven't found them to be a problem, and they do cruise the tank beneficially eating crap.

I've noticed that when the pod population in my tank is high, the Collonista population is low and vice-versa. I'm sure they compete for the same food sources. The Collonistas eat algae on the tank glass, which the pods don't.
