in a blue rubbermaid tub underwater.

This is growing on the "bottom" of a rock that has been cycling in the aforementioned rubbermaid tub with heat and powerheads, no light for about 6 weeks.
(it was in my display until I started fallow for ich, and figured I'd cycle out the rock to kill off the aptasia and minor hair algae)

Looks like an encrusting sponge to me.

Nothing to worry about then? I kind of figured if it hadn't taken over all the rocks it couldn't be THAT scary..and I kind of also thing that since they were all in a small tub for 6 weeks, if it were bad, it'probably be too late for the other rocks anyway... so I tossed it back in...
