I had this particular coral a few years back, and I cannot for the life of me find anything exactly like it. I've seen some similar specimens, but nothing real close. Can someone tell me what the exact species is on this dang thing??? :)

This is what it looked like when I got it. It was all closed up at the time.

This is about six months later, open and flying in the waves. (Go ahead and ignore all of the flatworms I had at the time.)</center>

Someone help me get my coral back! :)

It just looks like a really nice toadstool to me. There arent any real names for toadstool leathers (other than toadstool) i dont think because there are just too many varieties. One might have thicker polyps than the same one 20 feet away.

That looks like the ORA long polyp toadstool. Here is mine for comparison.

ORA: Oceans Reef and Aquarium. It is a place that grows some really sweet corals, clams, and fish. It is one of the largest supplier of captive bred, and captive propagated corals/fish. Hope that helps. If not do a google search,

Michael

It's about 5-6 inches across. If it grows any more it will be pressed up against the glass. Send me a pm in July or August and I'll let you know whether I'll be fragging then.
