Not exactly sure, (Hydroids?) but I wouldn't treat it any differently than you would an Aiptaisa. Better safe than sorry. GL
 
Instead of clipping them, you might want to knead up a big piece of epoxy and just try to smother them first. It would be like putting a bunch of chewed up bubble gum over the polyps. GL.

Edit: Found something besides epoxy; some more of those Hydroid things. Maybe a better angle to ID.
