Ideal lighting for this unit

I have a 39 gal cube. It is 24 inches deep. I have a 20" sunpod 150W MH. It has 6 moon leds & 6 white leds.

What type of schedule should I be keeping with the lights.

White led and moon led in the morning?
Turn them off then the 150w metal Halide?
Then turn it off then back to the white and blue?
Then just the blue overnight?

Thanks and sorry for the dumb question.

I'd leave the LEDs on 24/7 if you don't feel like buying a separate timer. The LEDs will be overwhelmed by the halide. Use the MH on a normal photoperiod.

Should I turn the white leds off at night for the "moonlight" or is the moonlight simulated with the white AND blue lights.

Thanks

The moonlights are just for visual aesthetics only. Your fish and corals won't even know whether they are on or off. I would run your mh for 8-10 hours a day. I have moonlights and I basically turn them off and on depending on whether I am looking at the tank at night or not.

I would leave the blue LEDs on all the time. Then turn on the white ones in the morning for about 30-60 minutes then turn on the MH and turn off the white leds 30 minutes after. Then at lights out just turn on the white leds 30 minutes before turning off the MH and leave them on for 30-60 minutes. I'm a newb but I think this will look good. What Kelvin is your MH? If it's 14k or above, I would turn off the blue LEDs during the day and have them turn on and off at the same time as the white LEDs and just leave them on at night.

I wasnt 100% sure that it was aesthetics only. I thought it could be benificial for the corals and fish stimulating them.

I have a 14k MH.

Thanks for the input.
