Identifing My Bristle Worm

Hi guys,

I'm new to having a marine aquarium, after 2 weeks I have noticed that I have what I believe is a bristle worm. I've read mixed things about them, but I'm not sure what sort I have living in my rock.

I'm posting pictures up that I have managed to take of it, please someone tell me if it's a good worm or bad.

Thanks

Yes bristleworm. Be careful (if you don't use gloves) when grabbing items in the tank. You don't want to place your bare hand/fingers on those bristles.

So it's a harmless bristle worm and not anything like a fire worm?

Should I keep it in the tank if it's only a bristle worm?

Fire worms are bigger and have a lot more bristles on their back. I have bristle worms in my tanks, they are harmless. And to the touch of a human, they aren't any worse than an anemone. Some people have big reactions and some people don't have any.

Thats a harmless bristleworm. I have both fireworms and common bristleworms in my tank and the fire worms are definitely bigger. Actually most fireworms are harmless, its only a few like the bearded fireworm that is really harmful.
