Definitely a Caulastrea sp (probably C. echinulata). Commonly called trumpet or candy/ candy cane coral. I have these in 4 different tanks - one of my favorites. I have found they do not do well under intense lighting or heavy current, will feed (usually at night with appearence of feeding tentacles), some colonies will produce quite impressive sweeper tentacles, and their skeletons can be fragile (but easy to fragment). Your colony appears in great shape- nice!

thanks is it a bubble type or just real meaty type? it is one of my favorites its only half the size of when i got it, i fragged a bunch for my bro and a couple of other ppl.

C. echinulata is described as being more "meaty" than other species, but also somewhat less colorful. One of my 2 distinct colonies has much larger lobes and associated skeleton than the other, and the larger one produces sweepers nightly, whereas the smaller one has never produced sweepers. The look they same except for size. I also have C. curvata, which has very widely seperated polyps/ skeletal branches, and the polyps are quite small and slow-growing - I keep it as an oddity I guess.....

Gary its a different piece, the one i got from you has brighter colors and not as meaty as this piece. As for color the one that i got from you i like more but this one grows much faster.
