he decided to pose for me last night, so I got what pics I could.

He's a handsome devil, and he knows it.
He also shamelessly manipulates my wife into feeding him "treats", kind of funny to watch.

No, I've owned peacocks before, Carl is much smaller, and has no red at all. Well... his antennae are sort of an orangish red.
He's also only about 3.5" long or so, I'd be surprised if he was a full 4". I try and be good about not overestimating his size.

Have you checked out PNWMAS.org? That's the Portland area club, we have a few other people from Eugene in it as well. We're recently become a dues paying club, and we're going to start having more speakers. We had Steve Tyree (sp?) at the August picnic, it was pretty cool. I know it's a haul from Medford, but it might be worth it for the big meetings with speakers.

i wanna say smithii. it is a gonodactylus. i think it is a smithii by the antenae. orange with white tip.

Of course, after I decide to get a good look at his dactyl spots, he immediately heads for deep cover... the little jerk. ;)
