IDing questions

I am lost on this Zoanthid naming craze. With SPS I am very careful not to use existing names unless it is directly linked by lineage. So I would like some help with naming some Zoa's I have on my myspace page.

Here are a few pics

Thanks all in advance

Moved to the ID forum. However I can confirm they're zoanthids or paly. Please send me frags of each specimen for further ID.

Red Rings, look like superman's from alt. i have some and they are the same or very close.

Ring of Fire has another name as well dont remmeber but they are listes on zoid.

Thanks KS!!

I had seen the Supermans and did see that they were close. I fragged this little colony and am tring it under different light levels right now.

The Paly's on top have had a few PM's . I had thought of naming it Stardust but there was a stardust green Paly on ZoaID. These came to me as a hitchhiker on a chalice.

1st one is a protopaly in the mold of purpledeaths and Nuc greens. same genus.

Do the ring of fires develop blue coloration/rings on the outer polyp near the skirt.. if so.. some sites sell those as Chinese zoa's.

Thanks for the response.

The only blue the Ring of Fire develops in that area is more of a lighting issue. A friend had them under 20 K's and I did notice that. I moved a frag from it to 14K's ( that I run) and the blue was unnoticeable. The colony pictured has been high under dual 96W PC's no blue.

they're also called oxides in other areas. with the blue ring. I used to have those years ago till zoa pox hit my tank and wiped out colonies... lost $$$$$ in zoa's. that was before furan2 was found. I have since not found much people that have that zoa, especially one with the blue ring brightly showing.
