Idol with a large gash from a tang

I have kept an Morish Idol for a couple months now. It is fat and not aggressive. However, the Powder Blue tang seems to be more aggressive toward the Idol as the days pass . Just after feeding this evening the tang chased off the idol or sliced the idol's right side open. What can i do to help this heal.

I already offer home made frozen foods three times a day, and use an auto feeder to help during the work hours. I use selcon, as well as a slew of other additives in the frozen food.

I am more concerned about the fish becoming infected and dieing. What have others done for large cuts on their fish?

It'll heal in a week or two. Feed well and keep the water quality high. My sailfin chases my idol around the tank a lot. Do you have other tangs in the tank? Some times multiple tangs serve as a good distraction, they fight with each other instead of your other fish.

nope, the powder blue is the only tang. I used to keep two tangs (a powder blue and achilles) in this tank, with little issue. Otherwise there are two bangai cardinals, pygmy angel, and a anthias.

i have decided to put the tank divider back in the tank to keep the two fish apart, and help releive the stress between the two. Otherwise, if someone has something to say, i am listening!

Wait, what size tank do you have these fish in if you can put in a divider? That's a key piece of information for these fish. I was assuming these were in your 150?

BTW, this is a PBT gash too. It healed in a week. The scar is still visible though.
