If I were a Mandarin,

I'd be snoozing white during light hours then chowing down at night. Aren't all pods more active during the night? Why would the fish evolve to eat during the day? Are there any pod eaters that hunt actively at night? Just interested, Thanks :hmm6:

Simple. Predators come out at night.
???
Bump for the morning coffee crowd. My only reply didn't exactly answer the questions;

#1. I know predators come out at night. Mandarin don't tho. They turn all white for camo at night when they sleep, (most new owners freak when they see their seemingly limp dead white mandarin bodies at night, I did lol). Why do they have odd eating habits, i. e. during the day?

#2. What pod eaters actively feed at night? Reef safe fish that is.

Thank you. Cream and sugar for me..

He means predators of mandarins also come out at night.
The mandarins don't know that they're all safe and cozy in a fish tank and are still using instincts. I don't know anything about mandarin physiology but their eyesight may simply not be good enough to hunt at night.
