Whats the best lighting to purchase for a 180 gal tank that is around 2 ft deep? We currently have 3 but only using 2 400 mh.
That is what we were advised to purchase at the time of the tank setup. Our coral just doesn't color up like I would like. Is it the lighting or am I lacking in supplements?

what are you using as far as bulbs go. If you are only using mh I would go with a 20k bulb you will get more of a blue hue from them. Or you could also use t5s bulbs with them that will give you a nice crisp coloring.But if you are going to go this way you could use 14k bulbs with them. If you deside to go this way I wouldn't run them both at the same time, I would run the t5s in the morning for 2 to 3 hours and then the mh for 2 to 3 hours and then the t5s 2 to 3 hours, I wouldn't run them more then 8 hours a day altogether.
