Ike

Todays track isnt any better for those of us in Miami Dade. I pretty much resigned myself to losing my tank since there is no way that I can care for it. My National Guard duties are going to take me out of the area and my wife is going to go to Orlando to be with her parents.

I am looking for someone who will house my corals for the duration, I will pay. Please send me a PM.

Hopefully, it will keep pushing South a little bit more and miss us.

The bad part is that even if it misses us, it doesnt take a whole lot of wind to knock out the power and have FPL take 2-3 days or more to get it back up!

If it looks like it's gonna hit you, it probably isn't. Meteorologists never know what they're talking about :P

No kidding.
I'm tired of all that crap they pull at us. Did you notice how happy these bastards are when they talk about these Hurricanes?
Un****ingbelivable. There's one guy at the Weather Channel that almost ejaculates every time he mention Ike's name. You can see by their faces that they wish for the worst.
And then after they are done talking, Lowe's TV ad comes up. Profiting from our misery.

They changed Hanna's projected path so many times that I start laughing while watching they speaking. As Lewis Black said, I could guess with the best of them about these weather conditions.

I don't think Ike's is gonna hit us. I think it will go down, and probably hit the Gulf again.

LOL!!

Yeah things looking lot better now, i about crapped in my pants when i saw the 6am projected path. Hopefully now my wife does not have to evacuate.

Bunch of us at work spent last 8 hours helping a single mom put up her storm shutter and then did my house before I have to leave. Note to self, buy/rent only single story houses, putting up storm shutters on second floors are a PAIN.

well...now that it keeps going further and further away...are people still shuttering up? still haven't had a hurricane. (I just want one!!!) lol

This hurricanes has EVERYBODY, freaked so much that even the forecasters dont know what day of the week it is!

(i did not even notice that, i guess i am in the same boat!) :D

Oh, you bad boy!!!!!! When Andrew hit we were out of power for a month and no phone service for 2 months!!!
I have everything ready...just in case. This will be a good excuse to clean up the yard and get rid of all the extra crap laying around.
Good luck everyone!!

I was at ucf for wilma...slept with window open. I dunno why, but I wanna see what a hurricane is actually like. I can only imagine a big nasty storm. LOL UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE YEAR!

Hi, guys I havn't posted in a while. Some of you know I chase hurricanes for research. Anyways although the models shifted south please remember that South East Florida, ACTUALLY ALL OF FLORIDA, is still in the cone of uncertainty. Please be prepared for the worst. This does not mean you need to panic, just be ready! I purchased a generator today, have a backup battery, have my water and other supplies. You should too, if not from Fay, certainly for Ike. If you live anywhere along the coast, you should have a hurricane kit. For good information online weather underground is a great source. Ike WILL make landfall somewhere, and due to it's intensity people will likely die. Please do not ignore a major hurricane. I've seen people die before from this.
