actually, I lied...the last 3 pics were about 3 hours after shipping cause I dipped them, then acclimated and had them under the tank in the frag/fuge, then I decided to trim them down and move them to the top because I banished the micro eating snail down below. Unfortunately, by the time I was done trimming and iodine dipping, I had forgotten why I had decided to move them up in the first place, because I put a 6 or so polyp frag of each one back down below. By the time I remembered the snail, it had found them and sucked the skin off almost 1/2 the frags. UGH!

fortunately, it doesn't kill the micros......it takes about 3 weeks for them to recover.....but these were fresh frags, so they may be doomed! I hope not!


.....the snail will live in my sump under the 46G until I can take it to the SPS tank at work next week.

It does look like the Grape Slurpee. I can't find a shot of the joker micro to compare though. It seems to be a fast grower and always looks hungry. Normally it has all its feeders out.

the lighting is 6X39W T5's four are on 54W ballasts

from front to back.......actinic PLUS, 10k, actinic PLUS, actinic, 12K, actinic......had to go look! :-D

the actinic and actinic plus are overdriven.[/B]

Interesting, I've never tried overdriving t5's, does it effect bulb life/heat?

Looks great either way!

I overdrive mine too. Ya, it does make them run hotter, and does effect life. Instead of up to 12-18mo, they definately need to be swapped after a years use.
