Wow the Tangerines are SA-WEET!

Pink Lems morph so much. Here are two strains I got from Sang who got them right out of Michael Bae's tank. One is a P. Lem and the other is P. Floyd. They have even morphed in my tank - and different frags I have of the same coral look a little different. All striking, thats for sure. You can see on the first pic of the PL - it even looks pink on top (higher light) and pastel green on the side (lower light).

Even with Unusual morphings I have tryed under VHO, T5, MH they haver never been similar

guy who i got stardust from a year ago now have a 7 x 4 inche rock covered with like 200 polyps from all the sides plus to that a huge frag with like 30 polyps on it. and he only got a small frag from Miguel
any way that tank have reputation of been a growth booster for the most rare zoa. my friend saying that he dont feed also

I grew this frag of pink lemonades out to 10 polyps, I think I just lost my entire mini colony. For whatever reason the polyps on the outside were gone. I don't know what happen. I didn't look at my tank for several days, and yesterday I just noticed it. I cut it piece up and what I have left is a partial single polyp that was in the middle of the colony.

I am not a happy camper.

I will be happy if this single polyp makes it, I'm confident I'll grow it back out.

I've had this same thing happen in the past, so I'm wondering why? Some micros thrive like I've never seen. I have some pieces that grow like weeds. The PL grew great, then suddenly it went bad, and fast. I'm talking in less then a week. Its very frustrating.

That sucks. Nice pic of the Pink Lemonade though. I have 4 poylps on mine now how long did it take you to grow into 10 poylps???

All Delight, I have some VERY small frags. They were actually the result of an accident - when I removed my colony from the rock. They have been in a shot glass in my tank - getting overrun with algae and tank muck. I took them out 2 days ago and they're all fine. They are definitely healed, I should probably nurse them back to light - but I'll hold one for you. Although admittedly - mine has NEVER looked that nice. Give me a couple weeks to let it get adjusted to light.

edited to try to obide by rc rules ...

All Delight....Over the years I have kept up to about 60-70 frags and colonies, and certainly will see this on rare occasion. From what I have seen, some damage or insult occurs to one or more of the polyps and then a bacterial infection (usually in the form of brown Jelly) rapidly goes from polyp to polyp. I cultured this once and did grow a hemolytic strep organism, but cannot be sure at all that was the pathogen. I believe (without any direct proof) that "spoiled" food could also set this in motion. At any rate when I see this happening I soak them in Iodine solution and then frag them (as you did). Generally what I have seen (as you know) is very similar to what we all see with sps, once it starts you better treat and frag quickly...or else.
Sorry for your loss, glad you could save at least one polyp..

Hyper - That original frag was 1 adult ployp, 1 juvi, and a baby. I got them around Feb this year.

Fliger - Thanks! I'll take you up on it.

Neyugen - I've had mag problems in the past. At one point it was around 1100. I eventually got it back up. I dose because my levels don't seem to stay up. I gotta keep a better eye on it.

Mark - I've heard something similar to the bacterial infection you speak of. And yes it does move quickly. I also wondered about the spoil feed too. But I thought if I'm feeding all of my micros from the same mysis, wouldn't it happen to all of them? It really confuses me. Then if it is a bacteria infection, is it going to move to another piece? Yikes! Is there something I should treat all my corals with?

Oh no i must have the brown jelly infection. One of my Acans started to die off and the tissue die off spread pretty quickly. I have pics on another thread. But it was like brown jelly stuff. I scrubbed it off and it seem to have stopped the tissue recession. I've been keeping a close eye on it everyday and feeding it everyday. No improvements but not getting worse anymore.
