I'm back I think

Hey everyone. Sorry I have been away for quite a while. Things got a little crazy for a while but they are slowly starting to settle down again. I have been here a few time in the last year and half to check things out and such and I can see lots of changes going on. Lots of changes with me too but we can talk about that later.

While I was away I am embarrased to say that my tanks were severly neglected. The 2.5 pico had to be broken down because it had been overrun with red algae so badly I could not even begin to clearn it up. I hopefully have placs to bring it back soon. The 12Gallon Nanocube was neglected as well but it has faired a little better. The clown is still going strong and she is still as moody as ever. Never allowing me to add anything to the tank or move anything around. All the zoes seem to be doing ok even though I moved some around to be able to cleant he tank better. The grasping Xenia had pretty much overrun the tank to a point were you could not even see one side, so I had to clear some of it out. There was a huge outbreak of Aiptasia of course and I am slowly little by little dealing with that. I cannot add a peppermint shrimp because Mrs. Moody Clown wont let me.

I have done a few small water changes and things seem to be getting better but now I have some kind of outbreak of green algea popping out. It seems to be just in the sand of one corner of the tank. Not sure what kind it is but I will try and post pictures soon as to what it looks like.

I am happy to be back and will post soon with questions on how to do the pico corretly and what to put in it.

Glad to be back

Hope to see you at some meetings maybe we can help you out with some corals once you get things under control. I have some hearty and healthy things. Hope to see you soon. :)

Nah, they wont let me play ball anymore due to some health problems, I wish. But I am getting things under control and other hobbies are starting to get more attention especially my tanks and my frogs.

Ok so I have some pics of the tank I took yesterday or the day before.. Here is some of the issued I have. First of all no laughing at the photography skillz, cause I know they suck. Im working on that.

Ok first of all here is the FTS , look how boring, almost everything is the same color GREEN. I want to add some color, love zoas and mushrooms, any suggestions. I am trying to get some of the orange zoas to grow over onto some frag plugs i placed right beside them so I can trade them for other colors but i may just frag and few and not wait.

Ok here is where I think you can see some of the algae problem I think. I think its hair algae but I'm not sure. See if growing on that poor snail

Tank looks great honestly. I love the GSP growing in the lower left corner. Looks like a grassy field or patch. To be honest I like the placement of the corals throughout the tank. I'm aiming for the same type corals in softies and LPS in my NC24.

To be honest the algae from the pictures doesn't look too bad. Of course you know the main causes of the issue in our tanks is mainly phosphates or nitrates. I assume you're using R/O DI water? And doing a pretty decent weekly water change schedule. I've got issues with algae even though my nitrates are non-existent. I'm not sure what is the problem but at least you don't have any cyano or other notorious algae infestations.

If you want to I'll take a frag of that GSP to clear some space in your tank! LOL, j/k but I love the aquascape and look of it.

you are welcome to a frag of the gsp, i was about to try and clearn a little out, i like the look too but its coming too far forward. If i want to add any zoas or anything else on the sand bed then i wont have room.

got any zoas to trade that i dont have yet?
