I'm bored. Please help!!

Also, you could buy a $400.00 fish. That will keep you entertained and in suspense for a while. Check the Diver's Den section of LA for some special fish

I tried to stop and figured out why my tank looked so bleh, so I kept buying what looked cool until I had enough. Came to this site only to be introduced into a whole new world. The picture isn't mine it's from soLID, a member. Now I know what Im going to do. Just add some color.
From a womans perspective, it's a really nice tank...but....you could change up the colors a bit. You have lots of green/beige/neutral colors. You need pops of blues, oranges, the dragons breath would be great placed around the bottom scape of the rocks. It will bring out the colors of the other corals. Like rock growing out of red fired flames. maybe take those coral away from the center, it needs depth,a separation between the rockscape. I am at the moment finding the brightest colors of anything I can, Suncoral, acans, fluorescent shrooms to add color. I make it a habit to two weeks before changing up the rock scape, just to be sure I'm not just bored.

You can go to my name and check out my title thread, "How to stop this madness" He( soLID) has posted the most beautiful tank...just something to think about. I'm hooked now.

I agree with CoralBeauty13. You need more color in the tank. Outside of fish, the only color besides tannish-brown and green is the red macroalgae. I would say to trim back on some of your coral colonies and add some with other colors...blue, red, purple, orange, etc. That'll add more visual interest to the tank.

Start taking things to the next level. Look for ways to automate things. Get a controller, my apex has become like a whole hobby in itself. Get some SPS, then you have to start to worry about dosing. Upgrade equipment. Find the thing you like least about your tank and fix it.

You could also go smaller... pico style... with mangroove refugium... 2 mains displays with different aquascaping and inverted lighting period connected to the same sump and the already mentioned refugium... it can be fun.... heheh

Nice tank!

As others have said earlier, replacing some corals with more vibrant SPS should spark more interest in your tank.

As they are more involved to take care of, you should not get as bored with them, and I believe the reward is greater in keeping more difficult species.

Ok here's were I would start.
1. Look online at photos of tanks that you love. What is it that grabs you, aquascape, corals, etc etc and write it down.
2. Sketch out the layout that you love and look at photos of corals and fish grab you.
3. Sell off most of the corals and fish (the ones you can let go).
4. Take out all the rock and using the sketch you drawed, put the rock back so it matches the sketch.
3. Buy small frags of the coral that you like and watch them grow. Same with the fish, maybe try some symbionic relationships like a shrimp and goby, some tiny gobys or blennys that live in familys or similar. If you have enough light get a maxi clam.

Awesome tank!.... Along with other people's comments, I recommend going SPS dominant. Its a whole new ball game with keeping parameters perfect when you get into the harder to keep SPS corals.
