Cool man, be sure and step back and take a a whole setup pic after you have everything dialed in :) great start. Reminds me that I still havent finalized how I want the ins and outs of hoses and wires yet on my 30. Thanks for the reminder :p

Thats really cool, by the time you get a bigger one.....and yes you will, you will be familliar enought with the set up of that type and know how to refine it on a bigger scale so you spend you money then very wisely on only what you have found works or doesn't for you......great job!!!

Have you had issues with the overflow not being able to vent and creating a siphon making the flow inconsistent?

I did have some issues at first, I did have a small spill over.

At first I used a sponge filter in the drain line and when I took that out flow increased, So Ive had to adjust the valve. I Have it right now at a constant level and it has not overflowed. I was thinking about making a actual overflow box with teeth, but so far it seems to be working good.

Now, If I can only find my screw on attachment to keep the fishies and snails out. I have no idea where it went.

And where is the scientific explanation for that?

Also With a tank that size, and weekly water changes. Shouldnt be a problem.

I used it on my 50 and everything is A-OK, except for my nitrates, But thats another battle.

Also, Dont alot of people use red hot blue glue and others like it for plumbing????

I believe rich used red hot blue glue also.

Also the infamous melev of RC used some purple glue.

So if it leaks some sort of toxin into the water. What are we to use to seal the pipes so they do not leak???

Also, the rock work, thats not final., I just laid it in there to have the rock in water, I have it done now. Ill post a pic of it tomorrow.

That's the first I have ever hear of the "blue glue" being dangerous. Got any facts to back your statement? I always thought it was safe since it's used in drinking water plumbing. But then again - we use copper pipe in our house. :P

FYI -- The blue glue is dangerous to marine animals -- it leeches toxins into the water for a long time.

I do not have any URLs that I can point you to, nor do I have the time to research.

I am basing my statement on a phone call that I had with the manufacturers of a certain brand of PVC glue.

Well what manufacturers is that, Since you are stating this.

I am sure some of us would Love to look into it or speak to the company directly.

I honestly don't care to prove this to you. I spent many hours of my time to find this information myself. I do not recall the manufacturer, but it is something "Loc" -- the brand commonly sold at home depot.

I wouldnt worry about it, when i used to do installs that is all we used, i've used it on well over 20 tanks and have never had an issue. ive used it on all of my personal tanks as well with no problems. you are fine. maybe the "loc" something is different but the red hot is good to go

You come in here talking about its bad and this and that. Then you have nothing to back up your information or claims. Then you have the nerve to say you dont care to prove it to people when they ask for the info.

That is just pathetic, You come into my thread and try to say that its not good, and when someone ask's for the information. You then say its not worth your time.

So its not worth your time to help out a fellow reefer, OH wait thats right. The only time you come into this forum is to talk negative about things. Even after all the negativity I still took the information that your were trying to claim and put all aside.

But your too good to help other reefers. Thats what I take from you not trying to prove the claim or the most IMPORTANT part HELP people with your info. Yet you have the time to come to the forum, click the links and read the responses, or even as much You know IM not sure let me get back to you about it.

pulling out the popcorn now..

LOL..... Forget the popcorn give me the captain morgans...

This may get interesting, i'd like to see what other negative posts mr. BB72 has been known for posting.
I would look for myself but "I honestly don't care to prove this to you."
So for credibility sake, could someone come up with real facts backed up by real research...I'm going to go eat a spinatch and lettuce salad, I'll check back in later.
BTW nice progress on the tank, I like the way the blue glue brings out the color on the white pipes :)
