Anemones will up and move on you. You can never tell with those guys. BUT from my experience almost every time an anemone moves to the back its usually dies.
I have two the size of dinner plates. One has been a model citizen. The other has been cave dwelling for almost a month since I got them. It creeps a portion of its body out everyday to catch some rays and food and then, like clockwork everynight, tucks itself in way behind the rocks. I'm not moving it as it clearly wants to be there.
I love these animals, simply beautiful. But yea, the direction I was taking my tank has totally changed. Just glad I didn't have the DT packed with coral before getting them. Ps, my clownfish nip at them on occasion but prefer the host in a dang rock at the side of the tank. You kniw what they say about the best laid plans. Haha. If you look closely you can see the shy rbta. The tentacles on the cave dweller are so beautiful and very thick. Not thin like the "happy" one. I like em myself. Feed them a small piece of scallop every week or so and they both catch mysis from the water column when I feed the 5 fish I have.
